Graphics with Agustealo is Art Warriors new tutorial series dealing with graphics. Agustealo will guide you through creating some of the most eye catching graphics for web and print. For the first time all miniseries will be available for free download to all Art WarriorS members (join now for free at artwarriors.com).
To make sure we are all on the same page please follow these following steps in setting up Photoshop.
Press CRTL+K (review fig 1:1 make necessary changes and click OK).
Your dialog box might vary depending on your version of Photoshop.

Let’s begin:
- Press the D key (default swatch white and black)
- Press the X Key (swap foreground to background)
- Create a new document (crtl+n) (review fig 1:2 for details)

Now let’s create something AWESOME!
Important Notice! Your background should be black, if not please do so now.
Create a new layer: CTRL+Shift+N and call it “Outer Glow”

Select your Elliptical Marquee tool:
- Select the new layer by clicking it.
- Hold down alt+shift and click in the center of your document and drag out to create a circle.
- Now fill the circle with red (color value is #ba0006 type it into your color picker)
Hint! Hold down CTRL+Backspace or CTRL+Delete to fill selection with foreground or background.
| Now duplicate the layer (CTRL+J)

Select layer “Outer Glow”

| Lets Soften this up a Little: Radius of 60px

Click Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur

| Select the layer above Outer Glow

Rename layer to Inner Glow

| Soften using Gaussian blur: Radius of 20px

Click Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur

| Change Layer Blend Mode to Color Dodge

 Select the Pen Tool (press “P”)
Note: If it’s your first time play around with it to become comfortable. |
| Start Clicking and Dragging Anchor points. Press Esc to start a new path.

Select your Brush Tool, enter a Brush Diameter of 8 px and a Hardness Value of 100%.

Create a new Layer, and reselect the Pen Tool. Hold down CRTL and left click on a path to select it.

Right click and select stroke Path or Subpath depending on your PS version. Make sure Simulate Pressure is checked.
Figure 7:2 Click OK, Repeat step 1 and 2 for each path. Don’t worry about the color for the storke, we’ll fix that later. Note: Make sure to stroke each path on it’s own Layer.

Now let’s get to the fun part |
Double click each line layer to add Layer Style

| Follow the following settings in each step.
Step 1: Drop Shadow.
Step 2: Outer Glow.
Step 3: Color Overlay
|
Now it all smooth sailing from here.
Hold down ALT, and drag and drop “Effects” to all other layers needing the effect.
Feel free to add other shapes, and, texts, then just drag and drop Fx. |
